This workshop-format course will cover the content of the new AP Latin
syllabus, with a focus on teaching translation, grammar, scansion,
essay writing and other components of the AP Latin exam.  Teachers
will prepare and share materials for literal translation, writing
analytical essays, and integrating short answer questions into
instruction.  Selected passages will include all the texts in the new
Advanced Placement Latin syllabus.  While the focus will be on
translation and essay writing, assignments and discussion will be
adapted to meet the needs of participants.  Face-to-face classes will
meet from 8:30 to 3:00 the following Saturdays: February 1, 22, March
8, April 5, 26 and May 10. An on-line option will be available for
those living too far to participate in the classroom sessions. All
participants will be registered on the NDMU Joule (our version of
Moodle) course page. Assignments will be due on Joule one week before
each meeting time for both face-to-face and on-line participants.
Discussion of assignments and some peer editing will be done both in
the Saturday classes and in an on-line forum.  Students earn 3
graduate credits.
Cost:  $535 per credit + $130 registration/technology fee.
Registration forms and further information are available from Sister
Therese Dougherty at tdougherty@ndm.edu.
